Privacy Policy <br /> <br />The Library Board of Trustees has previously noted the following in its Youth Services <br />Division Policy: <br /> <br />CONFIDENTIALITY OF LIBRARY RECORDS <br />State law mandates that libraries cannot reveal information concerning <br />a patron's record or use to anyone except the owner of the library card. <br />The library recognizes the right of a library user, regardless of age, to use <br />its services with confidentiality. The owner of a library card may <br />designate another person to pick up items they have placed on hold. This <br />person must have the owner's library card with them to complete the <br />transaction. <br /> <br />The Board unanimously agreed that further explanation was not needed. However, <br />addition of a privacy statement to the Borrower Card Application was advisable. The <br />Board proposed language for this statement, with approval of Library staff. <br /> <br />X. Director's Report <br /> <br />A. Statistics <br /> <br />Aimee noted that the year-to-date circulation has increased by 12% over the same time <br />period last year. She also noted that loans to Prospector decreased by 6%, while items <br />borrowed through Prospector increased by 6%. <br /> <br />XI. Discussion Items for Next Meeting <br /> <br />A.
