CXtY°.f BUSINESS RETENTION AND
Louisville DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
COLORADO -SINCE 1.878
SUBJECT: DISCUSSION- BUSINESS RETENTION VISITS UPDATE
DATE: DECEMBER 7, 2020
PRESENTED BY: MEGAN E. PIERCE, ECONOMIC VITALITY DIRECTOR
SUMMARY:
BRaD Committee retention visits are currently being conducted virtually. The planned
re -opening of City Hall will be used to guide a transition back to in -person events in the
future. Staff performs regular outreach to businesses to request scheduling a retention
visit. The Committee also has pre and post -visit surveys in place; all data gathered from
the visits is maintained in a database.
DISCUSSION:
Receptiveness to retention visits is once again low, which is likely related to the
approaching holiday season and the shifts in the public health status. Since the
November 2 Committee meeting, the following retention visits have been conducted:
• WishGarden Herbs (November 3)
• Planet Fitness (November 16)
Committee members who participated in the virtual visits can share the specific
feedback from the businesses. Generally the visits are positive and well -received. Most
of the conversations about challenges have been related to the pandemic, and the
Committee has learned a great deal about how businesses have coped with changes in
revenue, suppliers, employment, and public health requirements.
Below is a list of the ongoing contact staff is conducting to schedule future retention
visits, including recent recommendations received from Committee member Bolt:
• Decadent Saint Winery (second outreach)
• Via Toscana (interested, but delay until 2021)
• Wild Goose Filling (second outreach)
• SurveyGizmo, now Alchemer (initial outreach)
• Busaba (initial outreach)
• Eldorado Artesian Springs
• Charlotte's Web
• Old Style Sausage
• My Chelle Dermaceuticals
RECOMMENDATION:
Review the information and provide direction on future retention visits.
ATTACHMENTS:
None.
Agenda Packet P. 6
