Page 3.
•
•
Board member Ernest Marinelli asked Mr. Colabello the scheduled
time of completion
Mr. Colabello stated that the completion of the project would
take thirty days, weather permitting.
Board member Don Pickett inquired as to the size of the exist-
ing building.
Mr. Colabello stated that the existing building on the lot is
26' X 19' in dimension.
Board member Bob Davies asked Mr. Stephan's opinion on his
suggestion that the structure be set farther south for fire
safety purposes,
Mr. Stephan stated that the reason for placing the structure
to the north was to obtain as close to ten feet between the
buildings as possible.
Board member Ernest Marinelli suggested that should the
variance be granted a time limit be stipulated. Mr, Marinelli
suggested that perhaps a six month time limit be stipulated.
Mr. Stephan explained to the Board that a City building permit
is good for as long as the construction work is continuous,
Mr. Stephan felt that a six month time stipulation would be.
very liberal.
Board member Bob Davies expressed his concern that granting
Mr. Colabello's variance would set a precedent for future
applicants seeking a like variance, Mr. Davies wondered if
this would not be a snag in the Zoning Ordinance,
Mr. Stephan commented that the new ordinance specifies in a
provision that an auxilary building can be built within two
feet of a party -line. He added that the new ordinance has
provision that states the buildings must be ten feet apart,
Mr. Marinelli felt__that the Board of Adjustment members must
take each applicant individually as there might be irregularities
and conditions that would merit a variance,
Mr. Davies concurred with Mr. Marinelli but added that he felt
e had to express his concern.
Ernest Marinelli moved that the Board of Adjustment amend the
variance to stipulate a time limit of six months for completion
of the project. The motion was seconded by Bob Davies.
