Page
•
•
Mr. Colabello stated tht the two trees located on the property
will be removed and the lot will be cleared completely in prepara-
tion for the new foundation and placement of the modular home.
City Building Inspector Stephan noted the provision of two off-
street parking spaces in the rear of the lot, which would enter
from the alley. Mr. Stephan explained that this would meet the
new ordinance relative to parking spaces and will also require
the removal of an old shed, now located on the property.
Mr. Stephan submitted a letter of opposition submitted by Mary
C. Domenico, 901 Jefferson, for the benefit of the Board members.
Mrs. Domenico expressed her opposition to Mr. Colabello's re-
quested variances stating she was not in favor of reducing the
sideyards to permit a larger dwelling. Mrs. Domenico felt that
the adiacent-.-homes _already have limited sideyards and a larger
dwelling would visually distract from the other homes. In
summary, Mrs. Domenico felt that the Zoning Ordinances should
be adhered to.
Mr. Stephan commented on Mrs. Domenico's letter stating that
the proposed dwelling would be smaller rather than larger the
existing dwelling.
Board member Bob Davies stated that he has had opportunity to
see the Colabello property and commented that all of the property
on the 900 block of LaFarge Avenue are all to close together,
regardless of whether they conform to City code or not. Mr.
Davies was of the opinion that the proposed structure could
not detract but add to the conditions of the property,
There was some discussion relative to the lot size accomodating
the size of the proposed structure.
Mr. Colabello stated that the contractor has assured him that
there will be no problems in placing the new structure without
disrupting existing buildings.
Chairman Ross commented that he and the City Building inspector
Mel Stephan had reviewed the proposal on the location, Re stated
that there would be considerable closeness but Mr, Ross felt
that a new structure on the lot would certainly enhance the
entire block.
Mr. Davies asked Mr. Colabello if any provision had .been made
for a driveway facing LaFarge Avenue,
Mr, Stephan noted that the plans as submitted, did not provide
for a driveway, only two spaces in the rear have been provided
for. Mr. Stephan did not think it was advisable to have a
driveway on this lot.
