2020 Year in Review <br />Louisville Recreation and Senior Center <br />Facility Operations <br />• Covid-19 closure March through June. Reopened the center at limited capacity with <br />modification of operations and capacity. New protocol was put into place to ensure safe <br />operations operating during a pandemic. <br />• Throughout the facility closure full time staff was re -assigned to various other divisions within <br />the department as well as other departments to aid with special projects and day to day <br />operations. <br />• Utilized existing software to create online area reservations when reservations were required. <br />Required programming modifications, 7 days a week monitoring, scheduling events <br />management reporting, controlled entry to the center and contract tracing abilities. <br />• Attendance for 2020 totaled just at 149,000 for the year, significantly less than the previous <br />year. The counts will provide a baseline to monitor the return to previous attendance <br />expectations. <br />• Utilized full time staff in place of Variable salaried employees for the majority of 2020. Furlough <br />and termination of part time staff in Guest Services has the center continuing to operate with <br />very limited part time staff. <br />• Revenue for the center including programs was over $1.2 million which exceeded revised <br />revenue projections. <br />• Operating safely being open 6 days per week <br />• Hosted the Louisville United Methodist Church Giving tree at the center and virtually and were <br />successful providing 154 local children and seniors with gifts as well as $900 in cash donations. <br />Senior Program Highlights <br />Meal Program: <br />• Brooks Cafe transitioned to curbside lunch on March 16, and averaged 104 people per day <br />• From March 28-July 1, we increased our curbside program to offering lunch 7 days a week- staff <br />formed team 3 team cohorts through June 30. We brought volunteers back in July <br />• Served a special Thanksgiving meal on 11/25 to 222 people <br />• Scheduled regular entertainment at curbside pickup <br />• Continue to celebrate birthday's one day a month <br />• We served 25,793 meals in 2020M (compared to 9,098 in 2019) <br />• Distributed 120 Shelf Stable Meal boxes <br />• Secured additional grant funding to offset increase in costs <br />Resources: <br />Completed 186 care calls from April 2020-December 2020 checking in on seniors <br />We distributed (10) $25 grocery giftcards provided by Boulder County InterAgency for the <br />holidays <br />• Loving Hands donated handmade goods to SafeHouse (6 Trash Bags full) and lap robes and <br />other handmade goods to 3 long term care facilities in the Boulder County Area <br />
