Recreation Advisory Board
Minutes
November 23, 2020
apply for this program, but our numbers are still too high. It seemed to the Board
that we are doing better number wise than other counties that have applied for
the program, and felt strongly that every effort be made to expedite the process,
including contacting the City Council, the Mayor and officials of Boulder County.
Resolved: The Louisville Recreation Advisory Board urges Boulder County and
City of Louisville officials to be proactive in moving to join the Five Star program
as soon as possible.
Motion: Bradfield.
Second: Norgard.
The motion passed unanimously.
Nathan Mosely added that the Recreation Center revenue targets for
September through November were exceeded. December appear to be iffy due
to Covid-19 restrictions. He thanked Kathy Martin for all of her efforts as we
appear to be on target to meet the yearly budget numbers.
Golf Course Update
David Baril was happy to report that a new golf assistant was hired and will
start in January. He also was pleased that sales of memberships have been very
strong, with many upgrading to higher level passes.
Nathan Mosely reported the continuing positive financials from the golf
course. As of December 10t", the yearly surplus over budget is about $355,000.
He hoped that this trend would enable a study for a new clubhouse to take place
soon.
He also reported that David Dean worked on a pilot project to hire day
laborers from Ready to Work. The pilot was successful and we are looking into
the possibility of signing a contract with them.
Marketing Update
Ginger Cross highlighted ongoing efforts to update the Recreation Center
catalogue. She also was pleased with the reception for the Golf Course calendar,
given as a thank you to purchasers of season passes.
Redtail Ridge Update
Nathan Mosely said that it was plausible that the new owners of the Redtail
Ridge property would submit an updated proposal for its use to City Council in
the near future.
