City Council
Meeting Minutes
January 19, 2021
He noted the vaccine availability is still very limited. In the next few weeks they are hoping
to have about 70,000 doses available per week but it will take some time. He stated the
County has the capacity to complete about 20,000 doses per week but at this time there
are only about 3,500 doses available per week for the County. He stated there are
currently 31 vaccine providers in the County.
Campbell stated that once more vaccine is available, BCPH is prepared to ramp up
vaccination sites quickly. He added distribution is being done with an equity lens to make
sure under represented communities are included.
Campbell also reiterated people need to continue to be safe by wearing masks and
avoiding large social gatherings.
Mayor Stolzmann stated many people are frustrated there is not just one place to sign up
to get in the queue. Zayach stated BCPH is working with their providers to do just that but
at this time there are limiting factors. He noted communication is key and BCPH is
working on that.
Campbell noted that the recent order for vaccinations the County put in to the State was
not filled in its entirety with little explanation as to why. Zayach stated the State is hoping
for 60,000 doses available per week however some weeks that is filled and others it is
not.
Councilmember Dickinson stated he wants to make sure communities being
disproportionately impacted are being considered.
Public Comments - None
REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT UPDATE
Lynn Guissinger, District O RTD representative, gave an update on the work at RTD. She
stated ridership is down about 60% with COVID which required service cuts to address
that. RTD is starting to address how to bring ridership back. She noted the CARES act
has been the only way they have kept their employees on. She stated one of her goals is
to make the organization more flexible and cooperative.
Erik Davidson, District I representative, stated one of his priorities is creating a culture of
partnership with the local municipalities. He added his goal of bringing back riders and
recruiting new ones to make the whole system more efficient.
Guissinger reviewed all of the COVID safety measures currently in place on the buses.
Councilmember Dickinson noted "first and final mile" needs still need to be addressed to
get people to the routes easily.
