y, <br />LL Lo"uiy�sville <br />COLORADO -SINCE 1878 <br />Economic Vitality Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Friday, February 19, 2021 <br />Regular Electronic Meeting <br />Call to Order: Councilmember Dickinson (Chair) called the electronic meeting <br />to order at 1:30 PM. <br />II. Roll Call: The following members of the City Council were present: <br />Councilmember Dickinson, Mayor Pro Tern Maloney, and Councilmember Leh. <br />Also present were City Manager Heather Balser, Economic Vitality Director <br />Megan Pierce, Planning & Building Safety Director Rob Zuccaro, and nine <br />members of the public. <br />III. Approval of Agenda: Councilmember Leh made a motion to approve the <br />agenda. Motion was seconded by Mayor Pro Tern Maloney. Motion passed. <br />IV. Approval of Meeting Minutes: Councilmember Leh made a motion to approve <br />the meeting minutes of January 15, 2021; motion was seconded by Mayor Pro <br />Tern Maloney. Motion passed. <br />V. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda: <br />Mr. Mark Oberholzer asked to change the view on the Zoom webinar. <br />VI. Discussion/Direction- Downtown Business Association Request for Main <br />Street Closure: Director Pierce summarized staff's work on possibilities for an <br />outdoor dining program in 2021. Staff has considered opportunities utilizing <br />either the on -street parking spaces in Downtown for an expanded patio parklet <br />program or a temporary closure of Main Street for expanded dining areas. <br />Director Pierce also summarized staff's engagement with RTD and that there <br />do not appear to be an immediate avenues which change the DASH bus detour <br />route from diverting to LaFarge Avenue. <br />Mr. Rick Kron, President of the Downtown Business Association (DBA), <br />reviewed the Board's request for the Main Street closure. He said that based on <br />surveys by the DBA, there was almost unanimous support from the Main Street <br />restaurants for the closure. Approximately six other non -restaurant businesses <br />in downtown, including Eyeworks, were also surveyed and expressed support <br />for the closure.
