Open Space Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />January 14, 2009 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />Community Gardens that are supposed to be organic Tom said this is a jointly <br />owned property with Boulder County and that Boulder County is responsible for <br />the lease. Ember stated that Rich Koopman would be the proper contact. Annie <br />is questioning renewing her plot lease if the herbicides will still affect her plot. <br />HFAB recommended having the soil tested by the CU extension department. <br />Draft HFAB & OSAB Joint Recommendation Regarding the Integrated Weed <br />Management Plan <br />It was noted that the City website will have all MSDS sheets and what chemicals <br />were being used and where and who is contact person for that. HFAB wants <br />priorities listed. All sprayed areas are marked until it becomes safe again and <br />then signs will be removed. <br />Larry moves and Linda seconds that OSAB endorses the Weed Management <br />Plan and directs the chair to create a letter with the chair of HFAB to encourage <br />City Council to adopt the plan in our city as a guide for managing properties in <br />our City. The motion passed unanimously. <br />2009 OSAB House Keeping <br />Linda moves Larry seconds continuing to post OSAB notices at the <br />Recreation Center, Library, City Hall, Police/Municipal Court Building and City <br />web site. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Ember gave out Ethics Pamphlet to every member of OSAB. <br />The current membership roster was passed around for corrections and <br />returned to Ember. <br />Introductions <br />Tom Davinroy welcomed Broomfield OSTAC members and everyone <br />introduced themselves: Betty Erickson, also of the Broomfield City Council, Pete <br />Dunlevy OSTAC, Aaron Grider OSAB, Justin McClure OSAB, Joe Stevens <br />Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Louisville, Judy Enderly <br />Broomfield and Prairie preservation alliance, Dan Wilkie Broomfield and <br />President of OS Foundation, Pascal Friedan OSTAC, Annette Sissell OSTAC, <br />Rob Bodine OSTAC Chair, Kristan Pritz staff for Broomfield, Kate LeMere OSAB, <br />Linda Smith OSAB, Larry Crowley OSAB, Larisa Reed OSTAC, Tom Davinroy <br />OSAB Chair, Spencer Guthrie OSAB, Truman Bradley OSAB, Ember Brignull <br />Open Space Coordinator for City of Louisville. <br />Backgrounds on Boards <br />Mission and function Tom said OSAB was created about ten years ago <br />from a resource council and written into the city charter. OSAB provides City <br />staff advice on how to better manage properties and direct acquisitions. <br />Louisville has lands from not to be touched and lands for recreation and <br />everything in between. We have almost 20 miles of trails. Rob said OSTAC <br />started in roughly 1991 as a grassroots effort to create the board. A coordinator <br />position was created and Kristan was hired. The Commons have open space <br />and soccer fields and represents the different desires of the city residents. City <br />
