Tom indicated some more on the list that could be starred <br />3. Other accomplishments listed that were not part of our 2008 list - <br />`see list attached'. <br />Best Practices Review <br />1. Tom thinks to consider what we could learn from meetings with Superior <br />(website... Tom likes web presence for Open Space) <br />a. Lafayette <br />b. Broomfield (Open Space Foundation, Council member liaison, Survey <br />Monkey) <br />2. Justin supported the idea of creating a Foundation in order to create funding <br />for Open Space <br />3. Joe discussed Friends of the Arboretum, which members of HFAB created but <br />is SEPARATE from any government entity <br />4. Spencer said he believes 501 C3 organization should be separate from OSAB <br />and any government <br />5. Joe said that Open Space tax expires in a few years and worst case scenario <br />would be to lose the tax because citizens believed that foundation was fund- <br />raising entity <br />6. Justin supported the idea of a Council liaison <br />7. Spencer cautioned that a Council liaison could affect the dynamic of the group <br />8. Truman suggested that Council could participate on a limited basis <br />9. Joe said that upcoming working meeting provides the interaction that we might <br />want <br />Work Plan <br />1. Ember and Tom created a list `see attached list below'. <br />2. Truman suggested land acquisition <br />3. Tom suggested that land acquisition be a "goal" rather than part of work plan <br />
