Linda said adding raptor poles be part of work plan <br />6. Linda said Russian Olive removal be part of work plan <br />7. Tom said Open Space Zoning should be part of work plan <br />8. Justin said that Board take a proactive role in various development project <br />through the establishment of a working group /subcommittee <br />9.Tom and Truman suggested that we remove Friends of Open Space <br />Foundation <br />10. Justin suggested that subcommittees be established throughout the year as <br />projects warrant <br />11. Tom nominated himself to be on a website subcommittee <br />12. Truman reiterated that adding open space acquisitions to the goals and add <br />Supporting our goal of acquisition of additional open space to the work plan <br />13. Justin motioned to approve list, Truman 2"d, unanimous <br />Education <br />1. Tom decided to table the discussion of Education <br />Dog Off Leash Area of Davidson Mesa <br />1. Ember provided history <br />2. Tom said he talked to Matt Jones (previous LOSCAB & OSAB). Matt said that <br />dogs on Davidson Mesa and human/dog interaction was cause for creation of off- <br />leash area. Small area of impact to large Davidson Mesa. Selected the site <br />because plants were mostly non-native. <br />3. Spencer noted that his concern is that the off-leash area is not preserving and <br />protecting Open Space. He noted that degradation continues and that dunes of <br />blown dirt are accumulating in the parking lot. He said that perhaps a <br />management plan needs to be in place. He noted that parking continues to be <br />an issue. Can the land be restored? Long-term cost? (Parking, safety, <br />management). Should we look at turning it over to someone else? Should we <br />look at relocating it? <br />
