Sustainability Advisory Board Agenda
March 17
Katie: Application was submitted to obtain a grant to pursue a very robust
ordinance with updates to the building code. Codes cannot be too complicated
because compliance goes way down. We have a small staff. Stringent but not
complicated. LSAB could give feedback. Adopt it by fall 2021 so it could be
implemented by January 2022. The timeline will depend because we may have
to engage the public.
LSAB wants to be involved in code discussions. Staff won't be ready to present
on anything until summer, but until then it would be worthwhile to have a
presentation on code basics and what's available.
Laura: LSAB is advisory and not allowed to be quasi-judicial status and weigh
in on development review. What do we think about that?
Katie: OSAB has specific things they can comment on regarding new
development. LSAB should look at the specific involvement they would like to
have if they want to pursue this route.
Dan: There may be drawbacks to being quasi-judicial.
Mark to look into OSAB's language.
11.
