The technology of forming our own micro -grid is an option <br />coming up. We could negotiate a 5 year contract and not a 15 year franchise <br />agreement with Xcel. We could ask for an excise tax in order to help change <br />behavior. He is offering his help in researching items for the climate tax. <br />Katie: Can LSAB reach out to Denver's climate action task force. This would be <br />useful in understanding why they recommended what they did and how it was <br />moved forward as a sales tax. City staff puts <br />together a yearly analysis on how to adjust the rates. This happened recently. <br />We could ask that they consider adjusting the structure so we charge by how <br />much people actually use. Let's talk to the city staff and the utility department <br />first before talking to the council.
