Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 26, 2009 <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />that he will be willing to reuse the building on site and that a private owner <br />will be needed to step forward to take the building. <br />Muth reported that the County recently moved a building for about <br />$12,000. That helps give an idea of what kind of moving cost there might <br />be. She added that the City does not have a location or use for the <br />building at this time. <br />Lewis noted that one option may be to advertise the building to potential <br />owners. She will continue to work on this with the owner and report back <br />the group. <br />• 836 & 844 Main Street -stay expired 4/22/08 <br />Muth noted that the owners still have no immediate plans for the site. <br />1024 LaFarge Avenue -stay expired 10/1/08 <br />Muth noted that the owners still have no immediate plans for this site <br />either. <br />824 South Place -stay expired 12/21/08 <br />Muth reported the owner has not had architectural plans drawn for the <br />site, but is still moving forward with ideas for a new building on the site. <br />Lewis added that she plans to speak with the owner about ways to reuse <br />the building or incorporate it into a new building. She asked Stewart if he <br />would be interested in working on this with her. He stated he would help. <br />Ms. Downer's Cabins <br />Jean Morgan, 1131 Spruce Street, noted that the recent wind storm had <br />caused some damage. She asked what the City might be able to do to <br />help with the trees. <br />Muth stated she would check with the City Forester to see what might be <br />possible. <br />Morgan added that she would like the members to help think of a new <br />location to which the cabins could be moved. <br />Items from Staff <br />• Recruitment for New Member <br />Muth reported that Whiteman had recruited a new applicant that is a land <br />use planner.
