Historical Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 19, 2008 <br />Page 4 of 4 <br />The Commission approved this expenditure and decided to price <br />them for resale at $10 each. <br />D. Membership <br />1. Renewal notices have gone out via postcards. <br />2. Recipients of complimentary memberships have been invited to <br />renew. <br />3. Business Sponsor renewal letters will include two tickets to the <br />Holiday Home Tour and a window sticker. <br />4. The Commission approved expenses of $60 for membership <br />renewals. <br />E. Volunteers <br />1. The Commission approved reimbursement for mileage for Sally <br />Burlingame for 114 miles to attend the Volunteer Group meeting of <br />the Association of Northern Front Range Museums in Central City <br />with another Museum volunteer. <br />2. Training for Home Tour hosts will be on November 15tH <br />3. The Commission approved $120 for lunches for Home Tour hosts/ <br />floaters on the day of the Home Tour. <br />F. Public Relations: The 2009 Pioneer Award will be presented to Pat <br />Seader by Virginia Caranci at the Chamber of Commerce Award <br />Banquet in January. The Commission will pay for four tickets for the <br />Banquet for Pat and Bill Seader and for two other representatives from <br />the Commission. <br />G. Then/Now Book: No report <br />H. Mine Marker Project: Muth stated that the Historic Preservation <br />Commission (HPC) has looked into using a program from the <br />University of Colorado at Denver that uses students to help with design <br />of such interpretive signs. She noted that the cost for such a design <br />would be significantly less than having a design firm do it. It would still <br />likely cost approximately $1000 or so. She asked if the Commission <br />would be willing to split that cost with the HPC. Commission members <br />agreed to do so. <br />IX. Chairperson's Report: It is requested that the Commission members turn <br />in their volunteer time sheets at the January meeting <br />X. Commission Comments <br />A. The Commission approved the expenditure of $50 to the Ransom <br />Family for entertainment at the Methodist Church during the Home <br />Tour. <br />B. Selling environmental grocery bags with the Museum logo/design <br />was suggested as a possible fundraiser in the future. <br />XI. The meeting adjourned at 8:26 p.m. <br />
