Let's all
contribute to keeping our City
clean!

A REMINDER FROM THE
POLICE DEPARTMENT

Louisville enjoys a reputation as one of Colorado's
safest communities for its size. Credit for that
reputation is in large part a reflection of the people who
live here and our concern for one another.
However, another important part of that ingredient
is each of us taking responsibility for being safe. Safe
practices at home and at work can reduce the likelihood
that you or a member of your family will be a victim of
cnme.
Apply the fundamentals to improve your chances of
being safe:
1. includes your front door,
back door, garage doors, and your car doors. Most
residential burglaries happen in homes where a door
has been left unlocked.
2. Don't leave valuables in a car parked on the street
or in a public lot. Cell phones, laptop computers,
iPods, etc. are high value items that are easily taken
from a car in a matter of a minute or less - regard-
less of whether the car is locked or not.
3. Exterior lighting or motion detection lighting at
the front and rear of your home can be a deterrent.
4. If you are going on vacation or going to be gone
for a prolonged period of time, please come by the
police department and request a "vacation check."
We will drop by your home occasionally while you
are gone to check on its security.
5. When you see or hear something suspicious, call
303.441.4444 right away to report it.
6. When you see or hear something suspicious, call
303.441.4444 right away to report it.
7 And finally, when you see or hear something suspi-
cious, call 303.441.4444 right away to report it.
1110se last three points reflect the disappointing fact
that people who hear breaking glass, screams, or crashes;
or who see unfamiliar people at neighbor's homes or
unfamiliar cars in the neighborhood often fail to report
it right away. We are happy to investigate these situa-
tions. Most of these situations have perfectly innocent
explanations, but we often miss a chance at catching a
criminal because people do not call. Time is of the es-
sence, so please CALL 303.441.4444 RIGHT AWitYTO
REPORT IT:
