LcityoJ <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO -SINCE 1878 <br />Economic Vitality Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Friday, April 16, 2021 <br />Regular Electronic Meeting <br />I. Call to Order: Councilmember Dickinson (Chair) called the electronic meeting <br />to order at 1:30 PM. <br />II. Roll Call: The following members of the City Council were present: <br />Councilmember Dickinson, Mayor Pro Tem Maloney, and Councilmember Leh. <br />Also present were Economic Vitality Director Megan Pierce, Historic <br />Preservation Planner Kim Bauer, and four members of the public. <br />III. Approval of Agenda: Councilmember Leh made a motion to approve the <br />agenda. Motion was seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Maloney. Motion passed. <br />IV. Approval of Meeting Minutes: Councilmember Leh proposed corrections to <br />the March minutes. Mayor Pro Tem Maloney made a motion to approve the <br />meeting minutes of March 19, 2021 as amended; motion was seconded by <br />Councilmember Leh. Motion passed. <br />V. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda: None. <br />VI. Discussion/Direction- Business Representation for Economic Vitality <br />Committee: Director Pierce stated that she had brought a sample application <br />for review based on her takeaways from the last meeting. Mayor Pro Tem <br />Maloney said that he didn't believe committees are able to change structures <br />and that we wouldn't be ready to develop applications. Chair Dickinson stated <br />that in his view we could review a process and then take that forward to <br />Council. Councilmember Leh asked if we could go back to the original City <br />Council minutes for guidance about the desired structure of the committee. <br />The group then discussed the specifics for business representation. <br />Councilmember Leh asked Mayor Tem Maloney if there was a particular issue <br />with having non -voting members. Mayor Tem Maloney responded that it was <br />very important to have business community members but it depended on the <br />circumstances of the meeting and topics and referenced the earlier suggestions <br />he had made related to strategic plan initiatives. Councilmember Leh stated he <br />felt like the group had reached a consensus that they could select non -voting <br />members to be approved by City Council.
