Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />May 19, 2021 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />C. Museum buildings and campus updates: The project to paint the <br />Museum buildings is moving forward, and Sharon and Bridget are <br />working with the new facilities manager to complete the work <br />noted on the Historic Structure Assessments (HSAs). Also, work to <br />relocate the Trott -Downer Cabins has been delayed due to weather <br />D. Ash pit relocation updates: The pouring of the 6' by 6' pad is <br />planned to happen in May, but has been postponed due to the <br />weather <br />VII. Introduction of Kaylyn Flowers, Museum Technician - Outreach <br />Services, to talk about her work for the Museum: Bridget introduced <br />Kaylyn to the Commission and Kaylyn talked about her work with the <br />Museum since February 2020, including researching and writing the lead <br />article for the most recent Louisville Historian, digital projects, and <br />outreach. <br />VIII. Report from Sharon Nemechek, Director of Library Et Museum Services: <br />A. Arts Et Events Program Manager position and departmental <br />structure updates: The City is having some structural changes and <br />the Arts and Events programs will now be supervised by Sharon. The <br />City is working to fill the Arts Et Events Program Manager position. <br />IX. Report from Bridget Bacon, Museum Services Supervisor: <br />A. Museum Services Supervisor's written report: Bridget didn't have <br />anything to add to her written report. <br />B. Updates on other Museum operations and programs: The first <br />Lenses on Louisville event happened on the 8th in downtown <br />Louisville and the next on is on the 22nd at Miners Field. <br />C. Museum's 35th anniversary celebration in August Et September: <br />Bridget gave details about the events for the 35th anniversary. They <br />will include a vintage baseball event on September 11th and a <br />timeline of Louisville history on the website. Also, the Foundation <br />suggested calling the month of September "Louisville History <br />Month." <br />D. Approval of Deeds of Gifts from donors: <br />The Commission members approved by vote 5 to 0, the following <br />donations: <br />1.
