City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 17, 2021 <br />Page 8 of 12 <br />Diane Shepard, 817 St Andrews Lane, encouraged the Council to require more open <br />space. She asked if more office space is necessary in the post -pandemic world. She <br />noted her concerns about construction on this property affecting her home. <br />Matt Jones, 265 Dahlia Drive, urged Council to not allow natural gas to the property and <br />to require LEED Gold standard of the buildings. He stated a 30% open space dedication <br />should be required. <br />Maxine Most, 640 West Linden Street, stated no properties should be developed in the <br />City without knowing where the water will be coming from. She feels the development <br />doesn't make sense for Louisville. <br />Michiko Christianson, 543 Adams Avenue, stated the Council should require more open <br />space and building clustering but not in exchange for taller buildings. She encouraged the <br />Council to include equity, diversity, and inclusion in the development process. <br />Stephanie Rowe, 631 West Street, stated she feels the habitat plan proposed by the <br />applicant is not strong enough and isn't clear on exactly what it will do. She noted her <br />concern for the prairie dogs on site should it be developed. <br />John Leary, 1116 LaFarge, stated the open space dedication should be set by Council <br />based on the criteria not just a percentage. <br />Tess Weltzin, encouraged Council to require everything above Disk Drive for open space <br />to preserve the environment. <br />Cindy Bedell, 662 West Willow Street, stated sustainability should be a bigger <br />consideration and more open space should be required. She stated the public comments <br />are strongly in favor of denying this application as proposed. <br />Sherry Sommer, 910 South Palisade Court, stated this proposal brings too much traffic <br />and emissions to the community. She stated the area north of Disk Drive should be <br />preserved. She stated she does not think this application is an improvement from the one <br />from 2020. <br />Tiffany Boyd, 550 Grant Avenue, stated Council should push the applicant to think about <br />more open space and changes that would make the site more sustainable. This is a big <br />decision; please consider the climate crisis. <br />Tamar Krantz, 691 West Street, stated Council should use its discretion to require more <br />open space. She stated the tax revenue is not worth the development or the additional <br />traffic and emissions. She stated she doesn't feel it meets the code by improving the <br />health and welfare of the community. <br />
