Revitalization Commission
Minutes
September 8, 2021
Page 5of6
Chair Adler and other Commissioners noted their support for additional
wayfinding signage funds. There may be some cost savings by mobilizing once
and installing all desired signs under one bid process.
Commissioners discussed whether the amount of public infrastructure
assistance currently approved for Corvus Nidus LLC ($134,760) should be
carried forward into 2022. The agreement expires in December 2021, so
Director Pierce explained there would be no legal obligation to the amount after
this year, but a carry forward could represent a desire to still support the project.
Commissioners felt it did not set a good precedent to carry the amount, but that
the applicant could seek an amendment to the existing agreement or a new
agreement if the project is able to continue.
Commissioner Gambale noted his interest in a marketing program for the Urban
Renewal Area, similar to what the urban renewal authority in Lafayette has
undertaken. Director Pierce said she would explore the idea with the City
Attorney to confirm this appropriately matches with the goals of the Hwy 42
Urban Renewal Plan.
With the input received, staff will prepare a proposed 2022 Budget for LRC
consideration in October.
Items for Next Regular Meeting, October 13, 2021:
• Resolution No. 21-09: 2021 Budget Amendment (final approval)
• Public Hearing for 2022 Budget
• Work Plan
• Wayfinding Signage
Commissioners Comments:
Commissioner Tofte commented about the growth of Duda in DeLo, which
recently acquired another company.
Commissioner Gorsevski asked about the projects at 809 Main Street and 824
South Street. He also commented about Lafayette's success in cleaning -up
Public Road and inquired about the future sports complex off of Hwy 42 that
could be supported by the desired underpass improvements.
Agenda Packet P. 7
