LLC�ty�f <br />Louisville <br />PARKS & RECREATION, AND OPEN SPACE <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Open Space Advisory Board <br />From: Open Space Division <br />Date: November 10, 2021 <br />Re: Information Item 6: Staff Updates <br />General: <br />1. Mayhoffer Management Plan will be reviewed by Louisville City Council on December 7 <br />for approval. <br />2. After further discussion with the CIVIC) it has been decided that a Land Acknowledgement <br />Statement will not be added to the Dutch Creek Interpretive sign at this time. The City <br />would like to have more informed discussions regarding Land Acknowledgment <br />Statements before determining how to proceed. <br />3. Wayfinding team has selected final materials and is seeking fabricator feedback. <br />4. No bids were received for the Open Space Zoning project. Staff will be seeking interested <br />consultants. <br />5. Staff is updating job descriptions to support a City-wide Pay Equity Study. <br />Trails & Maintenance: <br />1. Staff continues to work on the Memorial Bench program recommendations. <br />2. Staff reviewed and ranked the contractors' bid submittals for the Davidson Mesa Trail <br />resurfacing project and are awaiting to assist in next steps. <br />3. Staff recently reviewed staging and Access Permits in support of the retaining wall <br />replacement projects at Hillside and Coyote Run Open Space properties. <br />4. Staff continues to assist with the Wayfinding contract. <br />5. Staff will be assisting the Natural Resources Department with the removal of Russian <br />Olives in the upcoming weeks. <br />Natural Resources: <br />1. Staff is currently reviewing submittals received for the Russian Olive Tree Removal RFP. <br />This contract involves the removal of large Russian olives trees on select Open Space <br />properties and includes a trail safety plan. Work anticipated to begin in late November. <br />2. Staff and volunteers will also be working to remove small Russian olive sprouts on select <br />Open Space properties this fall. <br />
