LRCAB will continue to provide information at community events. LRCAB is
considering a name change. Members and council discussed that several
commissions (i.e. BOA) need to be working on green standards along with
LRCAB. Collaboration among boards is needed to discuss ideas, various
aspects, and what will work for our community and build a degree of consensus.
Currently, inspectors have an understanding of the Green building code to assist
those who choose this avenue. Staff commented that voluntary building codes
may be more successful in encouraging green building. Council and Staff
expressed appreciation and thanks for the work on the LRCAB process.

Transition Louisville Presentation
Andy Johnson, Green Building Architect presented on green building in the
Louisville community. Recently a garden was started on South Street. He
suggested that movement should come from the community and flow upwards,
and not be heavily regulatory.

Recommendations:

Green building program for residential
Adoption of 2009 IECC with professional training
Green building training for building professionals

Wood indicated that there are an incredible amount of resources in the
community to support green building. A scope of work has been drafted to move
forward in the Green Building program, and has been sent to the Governor's
office. At this time the City is awaiting timing and eligibility criteria. The new
program is a unique approach for the City of Louisville. One component of the
green building program should include education encompassing investing and
return of green building. An investment in energy efficiency is a solvent payback,
although this information is difficult to "quantify" for residents.

Discussion - Resolution Defining Cause for Purposes of Section 10-2 (B) of
the Louisville Home Rule Charter

The City currently does not have a resolution that defines cause for renewal of
Boards and Commissions. The goal of a resolution would be to list criteria and
cause for removal, and establish a clear procedure to bring these issues forward.
