a. Mtg is currently scheduled for Veterans day. Proposal to move it to <br />December 2. (Nov 18 is Library foundation mtg so can't just be pushed a <br />week) <br />b. Board member Dufresne moved to move the meeting to December 2. <br />Motion passed by vote. <br />Vill. Ongoing Business <br />A. Superior Board of Trustees update (L. Skladzinski) <br />a. Residents are very happy with the book drop and collection available at <br />the Superior community center. Makes the library more accessible <br />especially for kids/teens. <br />B. Library Foundation liaison report (C. Seyle) <br />a. Little free library update (see agenda item above) <br />b. Fairly technical mtg focused on their bylaws. Looking to restructure their <br />bank accounts. And membership structure updates. <br />c. $30,000 donations so far, mainly through Colorado Gives. Really <br />increased their donations from previous years. <br />d. Healthy endowment > 600,000 <br />e. Read baby read program is ongoing. Appears to be working. <br />i. Matches newborns/babies with library welcome packet <br />f. Next meeting is Thursday <br />g. Some feedback re: Summer reading program. There was some confusion <br />about how the scavenger hunt worked. <br />IX. Director's Report (S. Nemechek) <br />1. Start opening at 10 am, trying to hire and hope to increase hours <br />2. 50 Books in First Grade - Children's services presenting at Colorado Association <br />of Libraries tomorrow about the program. Already have 25 kids registered, <br />opened on Sept 1. <br />3. Launching program to introduce kindergarteners to the library, treasure hunt <br />4. Artist applications for gallery, due in October. Want to expand the experience of <br />the gallery and increase engagement. <br />5. Student one initiative is done. Hoping the project increases usage of databases. <br />Teen librarian doing a presentation at teacher inservice day. Wanting to remind <br />people of the databases and e-resources the library provides. <br />6. Superior services - going really well. Lots of excitement still. First storytime in <br />Superior this last Tuesday. 1805 check outs so far. <br />X. Agenda Items for Next Meeting: December 2, 2021 <br />• Memory square park little free library <br />• Final approval for Children services and Volunteer policies <br />• Presenting Computer and internet policy and Collection policy <br />• Staff appreciation for end of year / holidays <br />XI.
