Revitalization Commission Minutes November 10, 2021 Page 3of5 Commissioner Smith suggested seeking opportunities where the LRC can help to move City capital projects forward. Director Pierce noted that staff reviews the Capital Improvement Plan and Transportation Master Plan for items that have overlap with the URA as they arise. Councilmember Leh said Council will look for strategic investments in URA and there will be discussions will be ongoing. Chair Adler said there may be a LRC/Council joint meeting in 2022. Commissioner Tofte said we do not need to rely solely on Council to provide opportunities for investment. He suggests reaching out to some property owners to see if the LRC can help advance redevelopment projects. Director Pierce said the LRC may want to contemplate hiring a staff person, as there is limited staff capacity to pursue the Commission's priorities. Commissioner Tofte agreed this was something the LRC should look at. Director Pierce and Commissioner Tofte discussed outreach and how staff could support Commissioner efforts in that area. Chair Adler suggested a retreat outside of a regular Commission meeting would provide an opportunity to discuss these goals. Commissioner Smith inquired about the logistics and structure of hiring staff. Councilmember Leh supported engaging that discussion and said that through staff there is an opportunity for the Commission to help maximize City efforts. Commissioner Williams made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 21-10. Commissioner Smith seconded the motion.
