City Council
Meeting Minutes
October 5, 2021
recommendation included in the Council packet. The next step is to get direction from
Council, survey the properties and begin the zoning process.
Staff recommends moving forward with the process for Dutch Creek Open Space, Walnut
Open Space and Daughenbaugh/Warembourg Open Space, but to delay rezoning on
Coal Creek Corridor from US 36 to Dillon Road, the Olsen properties and Lake Park
based on information included in the memo.
Public Comments — None
There was discussion regarding the boundary line between the golf course and the open
space on the far west side. Director Mosley said that a 20 foot buffer from the golf course
property line was added as an additional buffer in case the golf course needed to do
maintenance. Director Mosley will double check the property line and the open space
boundary line.
Discussion for the Walnut Open Space included including a parcel of land that is a utility
easement and trail access. Consensus at this time will be to accept the open space as
presented but to revisit the issue when trails are reviewed to be included as open space.
There was a short discussion regarding the Daughenbaugh/Waremborg Open Space
proposal with acceptance of the map as submitted.
Council asked staff to move forward with the platting process of 96t" Street so the survey
can be completed for the open space.
Council reiterated that they are not interested in zoning Lake Park as open space. They
understand this is a park and it needs a master plan.
Council gave direction to have Dillon platted to provide clarification on the parcel at the
southwest corner of Dillon and 88t". It appears that the parcel is partially in the county and
partially in the City.
Mayor Stolzmann asked staff to research including a piece of land adjacent to the
Mayhoffer Farm at Highway 42 as open space.
ORDINANCE NO. 1817, SERIES 2021 — AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE
VACATION OF A 125-FOOT BY 30.60-FOOT WIDE RIGHT-OF-WAY LYING SOUTH
OF LOT 9, BLOCK 10, LOUISVILLE HEIGHTS SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF
LOUISVILLE (601 MCKINLEY AVENUE) — 1ST READING, SET PUBLIC HEARING
10/19/21
MOTION: Mayor Stolzmann introduced the item by title and moved to approve the
ordinance on first reading and set the public hearing; seconded by Councilmember Leh
