City Council
Study Session Summary
January 11, 2021
• Building Department getting lots of requests for field assessments; bringing on
extra staff to help with those.
• City no longer staffing the table at the DAC, but Council is taking some shifts
over there.
• Museum gathering the history of the fire, archiving the event, and crowdsourcing
photos of the area for people and to help them rebuild. Also gathering
information on how people can clean damage items.
• Debris hotline open for the weekend.
• City call center will be open on MLK day.
• Planning is working on some information on what the costs the requirements in
the new buildings codes might be.
• Town of Breckenridge contributed $20K to the Community Fund
• Hearing a lot of info about insurance and there are a lot of discrepancies
between the different sources.
Mayor Pro Tern Maloney noted Council is getting a lot of email on the new net zero
building code and would like to do a meeting on this soon.
Councilmember Fahey stated the NOAA air quality van will be returning during debris
removal and rebuild to track the information.
Mayor Stolzmann stated the debris removal right -of -entry form is very confusing so any
help we can offer on that would be appreciated so people can better understand what
they are being asked to sign.
Councilmember Most stated people are anxious for the Davidson Mesa Dog Park to
reopen but there is concern about if the soil is safe.
Councilmember Leh stated he wants to be sure whatever information we give out on
debris removal and the right -of -entry from is accurate and that we are not giving out
contrary information to the County.
Adjourned 9:58 am.
Submitted 1113122 Meredyth Muth
