City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />January 11, 2021 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />• Staff is sending out information on services available for the long weekend and a <br />new resident FAQ <br />• Phase 2 of debris removal staring, this is the removal of debris from the right-of- <br />way <br />• FEMA has told us that City staff is working way ahead of the usual disaster <br />schedule <br />• Perimeter fencing for the closure areas has proven difficult to get due to supply <br />chain issues <br />• We are assembling a list of all the jurisdictions and agencies that have provided <br />help for us; we want to recognize all the support we received. <br />• The recovery manager position may be filled as early as today. <br />• Structural engineers are still evaluating the retaining walls on St Andrews. <br />Mayor Stolzmann stated the agreement from the state to pay half of our match is a <br />tremendous help to us in covering the cost of damage to City infrastructure. She stated <br />the Houston officials are willing to help us update evacuation plans as they did following <br />Hurricane Rita. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Maloney noted the website and FAQ is very helpful. He would like <br />information on how much of our infrastructure damage will be covered by insurance or <br />FEMA. <br />Councilmember Most stated there is a lot of talk on social media about that possible <br />costs related to the new building codes. She asked fellow members to help get good <br />information out. <br />Councilmember Leh would like more information on what infrastructure is damaged. <br />City Manager Durbin stated it includes street lights, street signs, hydrants, water valves, <br />water and sewer laterals from the street to homes are likely damaged, retaining walls, <br />pavement, golf course, trees, fencing, and possibly more. <br />City Manager Durbin stated Xcel is looking at how they can support new builds with an <br />upgraded system to supply enough service to support the net zero requirements. <br />Councilmember Dickinson stated he staffed the DAC yesterday and got lots of <br />questions about debris removal and the right -of -entry process; when will Council <br />discuss possible code changes; and air quality and when is it safe to return. <br />Councilmember Fahey stated Channel 9 and CBS Denver will be in town today with the <br />NOAA air quality van. <br />Adjourned 10:10 am. <br />Submitted 1114122 Meredyth Muth <br />
