City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />January 20, 2022 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />Planning will bring to Council February 15. Staff is finding that many homes were not <br />build in compliance with the underlying zoning so staff is trying to make changes so <br />people can rebuild to what they previously had. <br />Councilmember Leh stated he has gotten questions about how trees and landscaping <br />will be handled during debris removal. City Manager Durbin stated an arborist will be <br />used to evaluate trees and the hope would be to save what is viable. He noted new <br />surveying may be needed as well as survey pins may be dislodged with debris removal. <br />Councilmember Leh voting asked how displaced residents will be able to vote. Clerk <br />Muth stated she is working with the County to get information out to residents on how to <br />update their voter registration with a new mailing address. As long as a resident still <br />considers that property there permanent address they will be allowed to vote as a <br />Louisville resident. <br />Councilmember Most asked if the City now has a complete contact list of all fire <br />impacted residents. Clerk Muth stated we have contact information for everyone who <br />called the call center. It is a very good list by it is not everyone. <br />Councilmember Most stated she is getting questions about how much soil will need to <br />be removed before rebuild. She noted there is conflicting information about what the <br />standard will be. City Manager Durbin stated it will vary by property based on what they <br />find in the soil. <br />Councilmember Most stated people want to save boulders and rock landscaping if <br />possible. City Manager Durbin stated that is a good questions for the debris removal <br />meeting tonight. We think there are some accommodations that can be made but the <br />plan is not yet finalized. <br />Councilmember Most noted there will be issues with property maintenance <br />requirements for moving forward.
