 itiyf
L6 Lcouisville
COLORADO • SINCE 1878
City Council
Study Session Summary
January 25, 2022
Electronic Meeting
9:30 AM
Mayor Stolzmann called the meeting to order at 9:30 am.
City Council Present: Mayor Ashley Stolzmann
Mayor Pro Tern Dennis Maloney
Councilmember Kyle Brown
Councilmember J. Caleb Dickinson
Councilmember Deb Fahey
Councilmember Maxine Most
Absent: Councilmember Chris Leh
Staff Present: Jeff Durbin, City Manager
Dawn Burgess, Executive Administrator
Mayor Stolzmann noted Councilmember Leh would not be in attendance. She reminded
everyone this meeting is now being held only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
City Manager Durbin gave an update on fire recovery.
• Debris removal is where we are getting the most questions. The County should
be submitting a Private Property Debris Removal (PPDR) proposal to FEMA this
week. FEMA will take 2-4 weeks to review. Because the County, State and
FEMA have worked closely drafting the proposal, the hope is the review goes
quickly.
• Foundation removal will be key; we are pushing for FEMA to fund foundation
removal, but we don't know if that will happen.
• Public Works staff is also looking at how costs can be mitigated related to
backfill and dirt removal. Issues with backfill and dirt are significant challenges in
construction projects.
• Staff is working on a recovery mission statement to guide efforts. The first draft
is:
The City of Louisville is committed to supporting our residents and
bringing them home as quickly as possible. Our goal is to complete the
debris removal process and begin construction of new homes within 6
months (by August 1, 2022). We will dedicate the necessary resources to
City of Louisville
City Council 749 Main Street Louisville CO 80027
303.335.4536 (phone) 303.335.4550 (fax) www.LouisvilleCO.gov
