Public Comments on Items Not on Agenda <br />• No comments <br />7. 2022 Capital Improvement Fund Update and Discussion <br />o $250K allocated for operating funds <br />■ 2 full time park technicians as field -based maintenance staff <br />• Qualifications: qualified arborists, irrigation, sports fields, horticulture <br />■ Increased costs related to "Ready to Work" group <br />■ Wage increases, with a goal towards consistency with staff <br />■ Additional forestry contract work <br />o $300K allocated for Park Improvements <br />■ Dog Park improvements at Community Park <br />■ "splash pad" improvements at Community Park (may fall under Community Park <br />Irrigation project) <br />■ Refurbish parkour structures <br />■ Various neighborhood park improvements <br />o $300K allocated for Median Improvements <br />■ Utilize plans put in place during 2019 design phase <br />■ Discussion around long-term goal of replacing turfgrass in medians. <br />• Possible artificial turf amongst trees, etc. Could be an idea for medians <br />with no water/irrigation in place and as a maintenance/cost saving <br />measure to allow for colorful median noses. <br />• Discussion around sustainable materials <br />• Discussion around funds needed to complete project in entirety <br />o $50K allocated for Park Landscape Renovations <br />■ Suggestion is to focus on Community Park <br />o $500K Community Park irrigation upgrade <br />8. 2022 Goals <br />• Median Project — move forward and make an impact <br />• Support for infrastructure, maintenance, etc. <br />• Bring new members up to speed on projects <br />• Discussion around Arboretum upkeep <br />9.
