City Council Present: Mayor Ashley Stolzmann Councilmember Kyle Brown Councilmember J. Caleb Dickinson Councilmember Deb Fahey Councilmember Chris Leh Councilmember Maxine Most Absent: Mayor Pro Tern Dennis Maloney Staff Present: Jeff Durbin, City Manager Meredyth Muth, City Clerk City Manager Durbin gave an update on fire recovery. • Supervisors had a training yesterday with Dr. John Nicoletti about recovery and resiliency • Private Property Debris Removal continues to be a focus this week. We are trying to move forward quickly with a goal of having debris removal completed as soon as possible however the County is still working through the RFP and contracting process. We have to make sure we do it correctly to be eligible for FEMA reimbursement. We still do not have FEMA approval for reimbursement for foundation removal, soil scrapping, soil testing and vehicle removal and don't know how long it will take to get that answer. • We are working to verify what resources are available for residents for insurance help, rebuilding information and business support. • Yesterday we learned about a FEMA program that provides financial incentives for retrofitting existing buildings with WUI compliant materials. The program doesn't apply to new construction but we pushing FEMA for reconsideration of that. • Hydromulching is underway and is being coordinated with those still waiting to sift of their properties • On Monday Planning will host its first recovery rebuilding meeting to help residents understand how the rebuilding process looks.
