Roll Call: PPLAB members present Ellen Toon, Shelly Alm, Laurie Harford, Shannon Mihally, John <br />Webb, Patricia Rogers and Stephen Knapp. Also in attendance: Kurt Kowar, Director of Public <br />Works, Ember Brignull, staff liaison for OSAB (acting Deputy Director of Parks and Open Space), <br />Cameron Fowlkes, Assistant City Engineer, Dean Johnson, staff liaison for PPLAB (Parks <br />Superintendent), City Council Member Deb Fahey and Allan Gill, PROST Project Manager <br />2. Approval of Agenda: Agenda approved <br />3. Approval of Minutes: Minutes approved <br />4. Staff Updates <br />• Director of Parks and Open Space resigned, looking to fill new position Q2 2022 <br />• Marshall Fire cleanup/repair efforts from Parks staff: <br />o Parks impacted by the fire: Arboretum, Enclave Park, Sunflower Park, very few <br />public trees. <br />o Fence Repair <br />o Shrub Bed repair/replanting <br />o Irrigation damage, especially from the after-effects of excavation <br />o PPLAB members are reminded to complete Parks Scorecard addendums <br />assigned in December <br />o Question from Shelly: Was there a lot of wind damage? <br />■ Dean: Surprisingly, not too much wind damage <br />o Question from Ellen: How many of the approximately 1800 trees damaged were <br />public? <br />■ Dean: Only about 50, mostly in and around the golf course. Many of the <br />scorched trees are expected to come back. <br />o Question from Shannon: How will the projects/budget be impacted? <br />■ Dean: There may be some impact; however public parks were not <br />impacted as much as expected. Parks is looking to continue providing <br />the services they have been providing as regular course of business <br />o Comment from Deb Fahey: Thank you to everyone who has joined the Board, <br />thank you to Kurt and Cameron for lending support. Thank you to Ember and <br />Dean for all of your efforts. <br />■ Regarding the trees: many trees are expected to survive, don't take <br />trees down prematurely. <br />■ Regarding Enclave Park, Sunflower Park and Arboretum: Planned <br />improvements for these parks may now be more extensive; however, <br />would like to keep these improvements on schedule. Debris removal <br />should be priority. Please be mindful of scheduling, especially around <br />homeowners who have already begun/completed cleanup. <br />
