<br />City Council Business Retention & Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 5, 2009 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br /> <br />Menaker stated that it would be a good time to revisit the sign code downtown to <br />allow for more neon and dimensional signs. <br /> <br />Hogan concluded her report and noted that the retention visits will continue in <br />2009. <br /> <br />DECEMBER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIEFING <br />Hogan reported on her activities for December. She noted that staff is currently <br />weighing options related to the post office site. Once the post office moves out <br />the City will have to determine what type of tenant(s) are suitable for the site and <br />if leases should be completed for short-term or long-term use. <br /> <br />Hogan reported that she is planning on meeting with business 0 m the <br />Downtown Business Association to discuss marketing i or sma <br />businesses. <br /> <br /> <br />FEE-IN-L1EU OF PARKING MEETING - JAN <br />Hogan reminded members of the upcoming meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />, 6:30 PM <br /> <br />COMMITTEE <br />Hogan asked the representatives from th <br />their 2009 plans. <br /> <br /> <br />MMENTS <br />and Chamber to briefly highlight <br /> <br />Angell stated that the Chamber i continuing work on their CTC Outreach <br />program and specifically want to ake more business to business contacts <br />between CTC businesses an city businesses. They are continuing their <br />"Lunch 'n' Learn" series which bn speakers in to address the needs of <br />businesses. In additiol)iIi.,they will do their three major events: the Taste of <br />Louisville, Business wcase, and Parade of Lights. <br /> <br />Krueger stated the DBA working on a possible fall event in downtown, <br />marketing cl es for small businesses, the Street Faire, and an idea for patio <br />seating. S d that the DBA and Chamber have scheduled quarterly <br />meetings h other to discuss ways they can help support others efforts. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br />The meeting adjourned at 10: 15 AM. <br />
