<br />Open Space Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />May 13, 2009 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br />Phillips Campus. <br />Linda asked if Superior had a ranking system. John stated that they did and <br />ranked properties according to perceived value known as high value properties. <br />OSAC from Superior stated they are interested in protecting the ridgeline of the <br />3M property. <br /> <br />John asked if Louisville had made any recent acquisitions. Tom stated that <br />Louisville had purchased the Domyanovich Property in a joint acquisition with <br />Boulder County. Ember stated that the City is not currently looking to build a trail <br />through the property. Tom said Louisville has a priority list and the Mayhoffer <br />property is the highest priority. Also, Tom stated that the property is currently <br />being used for Agricultural purposes and that the City is looking for a possible <br />joint acquisition with Lafayette. Ember stated the Mayhoffer Property was <br />approximately 190 ac. Tom also stated the City Louisville has received generous <br />open space dedications from recent developments, including the Takoda <br />property on Highway 42. <br />John asked for current information associated with Conoco. Tom stated that <br />Conoco is deconstructing their site and making adjacent acquisitions (Paradise) <br />for improved access to the campus. Both boards expressed interest in working <br />with Conoco to improve trail connectivity. Tom said that OSAB met with the <br />Broomfield open space board and they were also interested in enhanced <br />connectivity associated with the Conoco campus. Ember mentioned that <br />Louisville, Lafayette, and Boulder County are interested in creating a trail by <br />104th (Aquarius Property) St. and that Boulder County has appropriated funds for <br />the engineering of the trail. OSAC said that a trail through Superior to Marshal <br />Road with assistance from Boulder County and (GOCO Grant) is in the 2010 <br />budget. <br /> <br />OSAC asked if Conoco has to submit their plans to Planning Commission. Tom <br />replied that they did and they will be required to dedicate public lands. <br />OSAC stated that Conoco has requested access to 88th St. from us36th. <br /> <br />Coal Creek Corridor: <br />OSAC (Molly) stated that they have been working with Ember to establish <br />temporary trail signage (directional) associated with a trail extension from the <br />Singletree Trail to the Coal Creek by Mcaslin Blvd. Ember stated that 4 signs will <br />be installed on the Coal Creek trail to keep people from wandering off of the <br />trails. Tom suggested that imprints on the sidewalk may be a better solution as <br />opposed to signage. Ember also stated the UDFCD made improvements to <br />drainage on Coal Creek and that further improvements were required for a <br />connection by CTC Open Space. Ember also mentioned that the City wanted to <br />upgrade the trailhead for Coal Creek adjacent to the Coal Creek Cemetery. <br />OSAC asked if drinking fountains had been considered. Ember stated that is was <br />possible and that the City was exploring the possibility. <br />Molly said the Superior had also been working on putting together general rules <br />for regional trails throughout Boulder County with the cooperation of Ember and <br />
