Smart mobility is an organization that boasts over
300,000 members throughout the United States. New members are projected to
increase to over 1,000,000 in the next three years. eGO car share is a not for
profit organization in Boulder County under the Smart Mobility umbrella. Participation in eGO car share by the City
would help in scaling back the number of fleet vehicles maintained. Folks
suggested the opportunity is worth exploring. eGO encourages contacting home
owners associations about the program. eGO offers different plans based on
member needs. There is typically a $2.50 - $6.50 an hour fee, and a per mile
charge. eGO is for local usage of a vehicle, rather than long trips. eGO would
like to explore options for a viable opportunity for the City. In the future there will
be Smart Card technology collaboration with RTD and Light Rail, as well as eGo
car share, and bike on demand. There is precedence in Chicago that utilizes the
program discussed.

Proposed Charter Amendments

Fleming proposed three charter amendments:
1. Lease purchase option provisions - Propose a slight change
2. Hand delivering notices of special meetings - Electronic provision
3. Emergency meetings are considered special meetings. The charter
requires that notice is given, although does not require "how" notice is provided.
