CONSTRUCTION AT SOUTH BOULDER ROAD & HIGHWAY 42 This fall the City will start construction to im- prove the intersection of South Boulder Road and project flow through the intersection and bicycle and pedestrian mobility in the area around the intersec- tion. Intersection improvements include the construction of a second through lane on State Highway 42 and the con- struction of dual-left turn lanes on each leg of the inter- project will also include new sidewalks added along State Highway 42 adjacent to Wells Fargo, Burger King, Big"O" Tires, Union Jack, and Fordyce Auto Center. Bike lanes will be provided on South Boulder Road and State Highway 42 at the intersection where space allows. is to during construction; however, the project will result in lanes clo- sures and delays. D esidents whose properties are adjacent to public l'...alleyways are required to keep the alleys clear of trees, brush, junk, trash, and debris. Residents may not store any of these items within the alley right-of-way. Junk and landscape debris should be disposed of prop- Branch Recycle Site is open the first weekend of every month this summer to accept tree branches and other woody plant material. Bushes and trees originating on your property that are growing into the alleyway should be trimmed back behind fences and property lines. Alley rights-of-way need to be clear to allow safe access for garage entry, trash collection, utility and fire trucks, and other emergency response vehicles. The City will be accepting 2009 Water Use Rebate applications for seniors beginning July 1,2009. rebates will be available through November 30, 2009. rebate is a $100.00 credit on your water bill. To qualify for a Water Use Rebate, you must meet ALL of the following qualifications: + total Household income must be under $25,000 for the 2008 calendar year. + You or your spouse must be 65 years of age or older by August 1,2009. + You must have been a resident of the City of Louis- ville for some part of the 2008 calendar year. Only one allowance shall be paid to any resident or on any dwelling for a specific period of time. + You or your spouse must have paid property taxes on a dwelling unit in which you lived and upon which property taxes were assessed for all or part of the 2008 calendar year. DOG CLINICS The City's annual pet vaccination & dog licensing clinic will be held Saturday, June 27 at the Rec- reation Center, 900 West Via Appia, 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM. Veterinarians from Animal House and Louisville Veterinary Clinic will be giving vaccinations for dogs and cats. Vaccinations include rabies, distemper, parvo, and others. Dog licenses are required for all dogs living in Louisville. Licenses will be avail- able for purchase with a valid veterinar- ian rabies certificate for the year 2009. License fee is $10 for spayed-neutered dogs and $15 for non- spayed or non-neutered dogs. Cats are not required to be licensed.
