<br />Section 3. Removal. In addition to any other cause for removal, any member of the Board <br />incurring three (3) unexcused absences from official meetings of the Board during twelve <br />consecutive months, shall be subject to removal for cause by the City Council. <br /> <br />Section 4. Officers. <br /> <br />(a) The officers of the Board shall be a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, and a Secretary. <br />The Board shall elect its Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson from among the regular <br />members. The Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson shall be elected annually at the <br />Board's first regular meeting of the calendar year and each shall be eligible for re- <br />election. The City's Chief Building Official shall serve as Secretary to the Board. <br /> <br />(b) A Vacancy in the office of chairperson shall be filled automatically by the Vice- <br />Chairperson and a new Vice-Chairperson elected at the next regular meeting of the <br />Board from among the embers. Vacancies in the office of Vice-Chairperson shall be <br />filled at the next regular meeting of the Board by election from among members. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 3 <br />DUTIES OF OFFICERS <br /> <br />Section 1. Chairperson. The Chairperson shall preside at all meetings and hearings of the Board. <br />The Chairperson shall have the duties normally conferred by parliamentary usage on such officers, <br />shall have the privilege of participating in and discussing matters before the Board, and of making <br />motions and voting thereon. The Chairperson shall decide all points of procedure and order, <br />subject to these rules of procedure, unless otherwise directed by a majority of the members of the <br />Board present. <br /> <br />Section 2. Vice-Chairperson. The Vice-Chairperson shall assume the duties of the Chairperson in <br />the Chairperson's absence. In the event neither the Chairperson or the Vice-Chairperson are <br />present, the Secretary shall call the Board to order and call the roll of members. If a quorum is <br />found to be present, the Board shall elect, by majority vote of the present members, a Chairperson <br />for that meeting only. <br /> <br />Section 3. Secretary. The Secretary shall provide for the keeping of a file on each case brought <br />before the Board, the keeping of minutes and records of the Board, the transmittal of appropriate <br />records of the Board to the City Clerk, notices of hearings and other matters before the Board, and <br />attend to such other duties and directed by the Board. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 4 <br />MEETINGS <br /> <br />Section 1. Regular meeting. The regular meetings of the Board shall be held on the third <br />Thursday of each month when there is business to be transacted at 6:30 in the Spruce Meeting <br />room of City Hall, 749 Main Street. Regular meetings may also be held at such time and place <br />within the City of Louisville as the Chairperson shall designate. Meetings shall be held only after <br />full and timely notice to the public. <br />
