Ft. Sprinkler Ordinance

Dear Mr. Jones:

Enclosed are our recommendations and technical rationale for proposed amendments
to the City's building and fire code. They include the Urban Wildland Interface Code,
Knox box requirement, and 5,000 sq. ft. sprinkler- requirement. We believe you will
agree that this proposal is consistent with many modern communities in Colorado and
that they will have minimal impact on development. Most importantly, the board of
directors and fire department believe that these new ordinances will minimize injuries
and deaths due to fire, minimize direct and indirect losses due to fire, and limit injuries
to firefighters.

Please contact Fire Chief Tim Parker at 303-327-5860 or Fire Marshal Bill Dhieux at
303-666-8809 should you or your staff have any questions or need further clarification.
Again, thank you for your continued support of our mission and proactive protection of
our citizens.

Sincerely,

T~5~

Chief of Department

Enclosures

cc: Paul Wood
