<br />Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 18, 2009 <br />Page 8 of 9 <br /> <br />The Commission then discussed whether they should have an award category <br />for Most Endangered Structure. All of the Commission members agreed that this <br />category should be struck from the award list. <br /> <br />Discussion/Direction/Action - 2009 Subcommittees/Tasks <br /> <br />The Commission discussed the following subcommittees: <br />. Old Town Historic District <br />. Community Outreach <br />. Incentives <br />. Mine Markers <br />. Design Review <br /> <br />Muckle stated that she was able to find the mine marker spreadsheet that she <br />was working on. The spreadsheet lists approximately 16 mines in Louisville. <br />She also stated that she will email the spreadsheets to the other Commission <br />members for their review. <br /> <br />The Commission decided to table discussion on Community Outreach until the <br />next meeting (June 15, 2009). <br /> <br />Update on Demolition Requests - None <br /> <br />Discussion/Comments on Planning Department Referrals - None <br /> <br />Updates <br /> <br />1800 Plaza Drive, the Hecla Casino Building - stay expired 4/19/09 <br />The Lewis stated that she had made a presentation to City Council on May 5, <br />2009 to ask for funding assistance on moving the Hecla Casino. She stated that <br />Council Member Bob Muckle was going to ask for assistance from a contractor <br />friend to see if they could relocate the structure and hold it until a final location <br />has been determined. Lewis also stated that she has had discussion with a <br />group in Lafayette who is interested in relocating the structure onto a piece of <br />land where they can reuse it as a sustainability museum. Unfortunately Lewis <br />does not believe the group is ready to move on the project right now and might <br />not be ready during the time frame she needs to act within. <br /> <br />836 & 844 Main Street - stay expired 4/22/08 - None <br />824 South Place - stay expired 12/21/08 - None <br />Ms. Downer's Cabins - None <br /> <br />Items from Staff <br /> <br />None, <br />
