City Council Finance Committee Meeting Minutes 02/21 /22 Page 2 of 5 APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE JANUARY 24, 2022 MEETING The Finance Committee approved the January 24, 2022 minutes as presented. PROPERTY, LIABILITY, AND WORKERS' COMPENSATION INSURANCE RENEWAL Dawn Burgess, Executive Assistant to the City Manager, presented the 2022 Insurance Renewal. Executive Assistant Burgess presented the renewal as prepared by the City's broker, Innovise Business Consultants. The City's insurers are Travelers and Pinnocol. Executive Assistant Burgess noted that the City's new Facilities Manager, Kevin Frey, worked with other City staff to update the schedule of insured assets. This resulted in increased coverage to more equipment and increased values on several structures. The total premium, including the wind/hail buy down, is anticipated to be under - budget for 2022. BAG TAX OUTREACH AND IMPLEMENTATION Kevin Watson, Finance Director, briefly reviewed the outreach initiatives to businesses and the internal implementation preparations for the new Disposable Bag Tax. Mayor Stolzmann expressed concerns of non-compliance among various businesses. Areas of non-compliance include businesses not collecting the tax, businesses collecting the tax, but not collecting the correct amount, and businesses not displaying the tax as a separate item on the customers' receipts. The Mayor and the Committee recommended following up with a letter and offering education/training sessions. ENTERPRISE DASHBOARDS David Baril, Head Golf Professional, presented the fourth quarter dashboard for the Coal Creek Golf Course. Kathy Martin, Recreation Supervisor, presented the fourth Quarter dashboard for the Recreation and Senior Center. Kurt Kowar, Director of Public Works presented the fourth quarter dashboards for the three main utilities.
