City Council Finance Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />02/21 /22 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE JANUARY 24, 2022 MEETING <br />The Finance Committee approved the January 24, 2022 minutes as presented. <br />PROPERTY, LIABILITY, AND WORKERS' COMPENSATION INSURANCE <br />RENEWAL <br />Dawn Burgess, Executive Assistant to the City Manager, presented the 2022 <br />Insurance Renewal. Executive Assistant Burgess presented the renewal as <br />prepared by the City's broker, Innovise Business Consultants. The City's insurers <br />are Travelers and Pinnocol. <br />Executive Assistant Burgess noted that the City's new Facilities Manager, Kevin <br />Frey, worked with other City staff to update the schedule of insured assets. This <br />resulted in increased coverage to more equipment and increased values on <br />several structures. <br />The total premium, including the wind/hail buy down, is anticipated to be under - <br />budget for 2022. <br />The report and corresponding narrative can be located in the packet of the <br />February 21, 2022 Finance Committee Meeting. <br />BAG TAX OUTREACH AND IMPLEMENTATION <br />Kevin Watson, Finance Director, briefly reviewed the outreach initiatives to <br />businesses and the internal implementation preparations for the new Disposable <br />Bag Tax. <br />Mayor Stolzmann expressed concerns of non-compliance among various <br />businesses. Areas of non-compliance include businesses not collecting the tax, <br />businesses collecting the tax, but not collecting the correct amount, and <br />businesses not displaying the tax as a separate item on the customers' receipts. <br />The Mayor and the Committee recommended following up with a letter and offering <br />education/training sessions. <br />ENTERPRISE DASHBOARDS <br />David Baril, Head Golf Professional, presented the fourth quarter dashboard for <br />the Coal Creek Golf Course. Kathy Martin, Recreation Supervisor, presented the <br />fourth Quarter dashboard for the Recreation and Senior Center. Kurt Kowar, <br />Director of Public Works presented the fourth quarter dashboards for the three <br />main utilities. <br />
