Open Space Advisory Board <br />Information Item 5: Staff Updates Continued <br />March 9th, 2022 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />Trails & Maintenance: <br />1. Staff is installing a memorial bench on Coyote run Open Space. This bench will be the plaza bench <br />location in Louisville Open Space per the Wayfinding Plan. <br />2. Staff is in the process of purchasing a new dump trailer to fulfill and close out a 2022 CIP. <br />3. Staff has been assisting the Parks division with snow removal. <br />4. Staff will be assisting the Natural Resources team in removing a shed and debris on Warembourg <br />Open Space in preparation for a spring planting project. <br />Natural Resources: <br />Staff has hired the weed control contractor for treatments on select Open Space properties. Staff will <br />be monitoring fire impacted properties closely for weeds. <br />The interpretive panel for installation at Dutch Creek Open Space is fabricated and installed this spring. <br />The owl cameras are officially inactive this season. <br />Education/Volunteer: <br />1. Education Events Upcoming: <br />a. Sunday, March 20, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Lake Park en Plein Air. Lake Park. <br />b. Thursday, March 24, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, How to Discern Bird Species. Webinar. <br />Resource Protection <br />1. Staff has identified a relatively large, apparently abandoned transient campsite on Olson Open <br />Space. The Ranger will coordinate with the Police Department to post an abandoned property <br />notice on the site and dispose of any materials left after the notification window. <br />11 <br />
