DOWNTOWN
COLORADO
 inc,
downtown stakeholders and partners, and with URA leaders from comparable
communities.
Louisville City Council: Elected officials will be invited to share ideas and
impart the larger community vision through a facilitated meeting with the
LRC; and
Downtown Stakeholders and Partners: Stakeholders at large will be engaged
either through a traditional meeting or through a placemaking event that
brings the discussion to the downtown urban renewal area to engage and
identify key priority areas.
In addition to DCI Staff, DCI will work with our Urban Renewal and District
committees to engage urban renewal peers from comparable communities, access
best practices and trends for downtowns, and to establish the strategy discussion
process for LRC.
The DCI process will establish a strategy and action plan to effectively leverage tax
increment financings and the urban renewal authority to further the vision of the
City of Louisville in the downtown urban renewal area.
ENGAGEMENT PROCESS + TOOLS
The process will include research and review of the previous projects, strategy, and
reporting, and hold a half -day meeting with the LRC Board to discuss priorities and
preference for the next phase of downtown planning and redevelopment. Following
the LRC board discussion, there will be a Council visioning to discuss priorities and
preferences. DCI will plan, lead, and facilitate a robust discussion for both the LRC
Board and the council.
Following the two visioning sessions, DCI will engage URA and Downtown leaders
from peer communities to hold a downtown assessment visit. The visit will include a
tour of the area and projects, an overview of the TIF area and finances, and some
engagement with stakeholders in the area. DCI will then present findings at a
second LRC meeting.
DCI will work with the LRC city staff liaison to plan communication regarding all
meetings and tours. DCI will provide language and an agenda, while the LRC city
staff liaison will distribute the information to all participants and provide all meeting
venues.
DOWNTOWN COLORADO, INC. www.downtowncoloradoinc.org
PROPOSAL PAGE2
