FUNDING FOR MENTAL HEALTH AND CLINICA CAMPESINA Councilwoman Morris APPROVAL EFER FUNDING ON LDC, CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND CRIME STOPPERS MAYOR'S TASK FORCE AUDIENCE COMMENTS Steve Reed 990 Parkway Drive, Boulder 11/3/83 Page -5- Discussion by councilmembers that funding be given Mental Health and Clinica Campesina and requests for funding for LDC, Chamber of Commerce and Crime Stoppers be postponed until next council meeting. Councilman Fauson moved that $1,000 be given to Mental Health and $1,000 to Clinica Campe- sina. After discussion by Council, Fauson withdrew his motion. Councilman Leary moved, Councilman Fauson seconded that Clinica Campesina be granted $1,500 and Mental Health $2,000 to be expended after January 1, 1984. Stated that she would abstain from voting as she is employed by Boulder County Mental Health Center and on occasion by Clinica Campesina. Question called for on the motion. Motion carried 4-0. Morris abstaining. Councilman Fauson moved, Councilman Leary seconded that the funding requests by LDC, Chamber of Commerce and Crime Stoppers be deferred until next regular council meeting. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Meier advised that he had received 27 applicants to the task force. Because of their varied interests in the City, 3 of the members will be advised by letter that they will be advisory members only, with no votinlg powers. Hopefully they would have their first meeting within 2 weeks. Mayor Meier then read the list of 24 members and 3 advisory members of the task force. Council- members 'will be provided a copy of the letter sent to the task force and the list. Inquired what happened to Item J. an the first part of the agenda - Basden Alley Vacation. Wondered if this was deferred to council discussion. Mayor Meier advised this item would be dis- cussed under the Attorney's report as Item 9 E. on the agenda.
