Question called for. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilmembers had a copy of the proclamation <br />and Mayor Meier read it in its entirety. <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Councilmembers had a copy of the ordinance. <br />Attorney Rautenstraus read it by title only; <br />certified proper publication, and advised <br />that it is a continued public hearing. <br />Mayor Meier stated that the public hearing <br />was opened at the last meeting and again <br />Attorney Rautenstraus certified proper publi- <br />cation on the public hearing notices. <br /> <br />Chief Building Inspector Steve Ferris had <br />provided councilmembers with a memo and <br />survey of neighboring cities showing a <br />comparison of contractor's fees. <br /> <br />Mayor Meier continued the public hearing <br />and asked if there were any comments for <br />or against Ordinance #807. None. <br />Director Rupp advised that at the previous <br />public hearing he had commented the fees <br />were tied in with the Uniform Building Code <br />wished to correct this comment stating <br />that it was not the same type of plan and <br />fees are updated to bring them in line with <br />the surrounding area from time to time. <br />The recommendation of the department was <br />for approval. <br /> <br />Inquired of Mr. Ferris what the purpose of <br />the increase was - was the intent to be con- <br />sistent with the metro area? <br />Ferris advised partially and in addition call <br />the various cities to see if they have had <br />problems with the contractor, etc. Also <br />advised that the Class A Heating License would <br />be required for all types buildings, i.e. <br />single family to high-rises or large buildings <br />such as those at STC; as well as high pressure <br />steam heating. <br />
