Bike Path & Street Signs AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION #32 Councilman Fauson Vote on the Amendment Defeated SECOND AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION #32 APPROVAL 9/6/83 Page -12- Councilwoman Morris inquired when the street signs would be in place in the development and when the bike path would be constructed. Director Kasch advised that the street signs would be in place as soon as the full street is constructed and Director Hioco advised the bike path would be constructed within 3 years. In reply to Councilwoman Morris' question of why two of the Planning Commission members voted against the final plat, Director Rupp advised because of the cash in lieu of open space. They favored open space dedication of 12% because they preferred the preservation of the hillside. Councilman Leary moved, Councilwoman Morris seconded that rather than cash in lieu of - that the open space be expanded to the east side of the front of the subdivision to create a more continuous effect of open space from the Mesa Point Subdivision. Mr. Drumm stated that he had conferred with the owner and he did not wish to delete the two lots to allow for the additional open space. Commented and Director Hioco concurred that the reason the staff recommended cash in lieu of open space dedication was that because of the topography of the site, it would be very difficult for the City to maintain. It was the general consensus of Councilmembers Leary, Morris and Cussen that if the City could not maintain such an area then it shouldn't be developed. Roll call vote: Leary Yes Morris Yes Cummings No Fauson No Cussen Yes Ferrera No Meier No Motion on the amendment defeated 4-3. Councilman Cussen moved, Councilwoman Morris seconded that the bike path be constructed before building permit #23 is issued. Mr. Drumm had no problem with this. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.
