Motion <br /> <br />Yes <br />No <br />Yes <br />No <br />Yes <br />No <br />defeated <br /> <br />Councilman Leary moved, Councilman Cussen <br />seconded that an election be set for the <br />Referendum matter as turned into the City on <br />Ordinance #746. <br />In answer to Councilman Ferrera's question <br />of how soon an election could be held, Attorney <br />Rautenstraus advised Council had an alternative. <br />The election can be at the next municipal <br />election or a special election which may not <br />be within 90 days preceding a regular election. <br />Nor could they call a special election within <br />30 days of the date of the call of the election. <br />Specifically a special election would possibly <br />need to be set in July. <br /> <br />Councilman Cussen moved, Councilwoman seconded <br />to amend the motion that the election be <br />held concurrent with the Municipal election <br />in the fall. <br /> <br />Councilman Ferrera favored the election on <br />the issue as soon as possible at a Special <br />Election. <br />Discussion by council regarding specific <br />date for a special election, allowing enough <br />time for voter registration, etc. <br /> <br />Question called for. 3 Ayes - Councilmembers <br />Morris, Cussen and Leary; 3 Nays - Councilmen <br />Ferrera, Cummings and Fauson dissenting. <br />3-3 tie. Motion defeated. <br /> <br />Councilman Cummings moved, Councilman Ferrera <br />seconded that a Special Election be held <br />July 12, 1983. Roll call vote: <br />Cummings Yes <br />Ferrera Yes <br />Leary No <br />Cussen No <br />Fauson Yes <br />Morris No <br />3-3 tie Motion defeated. <br />
