<br />Chief Building Inspector Ferris <br /> <br />Public Hearing Continued <br /> <br />Council Comments <br /> <br />Councilwoman Morris <br /> <br />ORDINANCE #780 ADOPTED <br /> <br />ORDINANCE #781 - Uniform <br />Mechanical Code - 1982 <br />2nd Reading - Public Hearing <br /> <br />Steve Ferris <br /> <br />2/15/83 <br /> <br />Page -9- <br /> <br />Advised basically the ordinance updated <br />the code from 1979 to 1982. Also reported <br />Covered Mall Buildings was deleted from the <br />Municipal Code and adopting it through the <br />Uniform Building Code as an appendix. <br />Another chapter was being adopted dealing <br />with existing structures with existing roofs <br />to be used as a procedural item. An addition <br />was made to the UBC dealing with windows in <br />basements and structures with stories below <br />the fourth floor - adds an egress window <br />where plumbing facilities are provided; gives <br />the Fire Dept. ingress in case of a fire and <br />egress for the residents in case of an emer- <br />gency. The window need not go necessarily <br />in a bathroom; goes somewhere on the floor. <br />Another change was Minimum Isle Width to <br />clarify the UBC for storage areas as well <br />as office areas. <br />Anyone in the audience in favor of the ordinance. <br />None. Anyone opposed - none. <br /> <br />Attorney Rautenstraus advised that section <br />15.04.070 had been altered since the first <br />reading and would be passed as an amendment <br />to the ordinance. <br />Mayor Meier closed the public hearing. <br />Thanked Building Inspector Ferris for pro- <br />viding her with copies of all the Code Books. <br /> <br />Councilman Cummings moved, Councilwoman <br />Morris seconded that Ordinance #780 - Uniform <br />Building Code 1982 as amended be adopted. <br />Roll call vote: <br />Fauson <br />Leary <br />Cummings <br />Morris <br />Cussen <br />Meier <br />Ferrera <br />Motion carried <br /> <br />Yes <br />Yes <br />Yes <br />Yes <br />Yes <br />Yes <br />Yes <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilmembers had a copy and Attorney Rau- <br />tenstraus read the ordinance by title only <br />and certified proper publication. <br />Mayor Meier opened the public hearing. <br />Attorney Rautenstraus certified proper publi- <br />cation of the public hearing. <br />Advised that an appendix was added as a guide- <br />line for vent sizing. <br />
