<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 3, 2009 <br />Page 3 of 8 <br /> <br />the dinner. He noted over $12,000 was raised, which will help defray the cost of <br />heating bills for Louisville's senior citizens. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Marsella recognized Boy Scout Troop 575, Sacred Heart of Mary <br />Catholic Church. The scouts were present to earn Citizenship in the Community <br />merit badges. The scouts were accompanied by their counselor, Ellen DeVilbiss. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Marsella reminded Council that the Consortium of Cities is <br />hosting a Revenue Stability Forum on March 4,2009, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The <br />meeting will be held in the Hearing room at the Boulder County Courthouse. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk addressed the issue of raising honeybees and noted the City must <br />determine how many residents actually wish to keep honeybees. Staff will <br />research this request and it may be a Study Session topic in the future. He <br />reported on the March 3, 2009 RTD FasTracks Planning and Development <br />Committee meeting, where results of the FasTracks 2009 Annual Program <br />Evaluation were distributed. He noted the estimates on commuter rail have <br />come down 20% however sales tax revenue is still down. He announced there <br />will be a Special Joint Meeting with the Louisville Revitalization Meeting on <br />Tuesday, March 11,2008 at the Library Meeting Room, to discuss the rail station <br />design. He advised Council he will attend the National League of Cities meeting <br />in Washington, D.C. on March 17. <br /> <br />Councilor Muckle arrived at 7:21 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk addressed the FASTER Bill, which will take effect on July 1,2009. It <br />will add a new fee on motor vehicle registration, which will assist in rehabilitating <br />bridges. He also announced the Water Committee will meet at 7:30 a.m., in the <br />City Council Chambers on Friday, March 6, 2009. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Fleming addressed Mr. Sobel's question about the City's new Web <br />Site and explained an overview of the new Web Site will be presented at the <br />March 17th City Council meeting. He encouraged the public to check out the <br />City's new Web Site and report back to the City. He reported on two City <br />employee promotions: Ken Mason was promoted to the position of Operations <br />Manager and Paul Bremser was promoted to Waste Water Facility Manager. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT (IGA) WITH <br />BOULDER COUNTY FOR ACCEPTANCE OF RECYClABlES AT THE <br />BOULDER COUNTY RECYCLING FACILITY <br />
