10/5/82

Page -12-

Mayor Meier

that he had addressed those questions, in
his opinion. He further stated he would
vote for the well-being of this City.

Stated he too felt that he had expressed
his opinion at several of the meetings held
previously. As to the benefit of the entire
community, he felt Neodata would be. Regard-
ing the present zoning and circumstances
with Neodata, he really didn't think there
was anything that could be better for the
area, other than residential. But it is not
zoned residential. Dealing with the facts
as they are, not as they would wish them to be,
he felt this point of view had to be approached
as such, and felt that Neodata was attempting
to mitigate thE= impacts more than anyone else
would. He felt in a lot of respects had
gone out of their way to work with the neigh-
borhood in the area; also that a lot of other
developers would not have done that. For these
reasons he was in favor of the issue.
Mr. Knowlton inquired if he had the opportunity
to respond.
Mayor Meier replied no, as this was not a
public hearing.

Steve Yatchak
1091 Azure Way

Stated he would personally like to go on record
to say there are a number of his acquaintances
in the area are not against the office zoning.
They are against the proposed project of
Neodata, the type of business, the magnitude
of the project, and the potential impact on
the area. The affidavit of loss of real estate
sale in the area has frightened the residents,
and possible loss and depreciation of property
values. This is a very significant concern
in the area. The magnitude of the project has
the resemblance of a light industrial factory
complex. He remarked if people wanted to
live in this enviornment they would be rushing
out to the Storage Tech area and he didn't
see this happening. He reiterated they were
not against thE~ zoning - they would anticipate
i.e. doctor's offices, dentist offices, vets,
etc. Felt it would be very nice to have those
personal services very close to home. He
directed a question to the City Attorney -
in respect to the litigation going on, is it
legal and proper for the City to continue with
the Industrial Revenue Bond proposal, or should
