10/5/82

Page -22-

Councilwoman Morris

Advised there was a Youth Task Force being
formed in the Louisville/Lafayette area
and presently is in preliminary stages.
It is made up of people from Mental Health
Organizations, Centaraus Community School,
representatives of Parks and Recreation,
and a group of people who service youth in
the area. They are attempting to get the
Task Force started and there will be a meeting
encouraging all youth - ages 14 thru 19 -
in the Louisville/Lafayette area to come.
The meeting will be October 16, 1982 from
3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the Community Bldg.
and have them express what the needs are.
what they would like to see in their own
Community. If anyone has any questions
please feel free to call her.

Councilman Cummings

Commented he too felt the price of the straw-
berry plants in the median on South Boulder
Road was much too high.

Councilman Ferrera

Stated he appreciated the LDC's report wished
to commend Mr. Adams on the report.
He then spoke to the reason he recommended
a salary increase for City Administrator Wurl.
During the evaluation discussion for him,
no definite goals had been set. It was his
feeling that these were not set by Council,
but there were some implied goals that Council
had agreed upon that Administrator Wurl had
achieved, i.e. the signal light on South
Boulder Road and Main St. whiCh was installed
timely. Another item was the Aquarius property,
the purchase is being made. Thru Mr. Wurl 's
efforts the Agreement was finalized. The
Superior Interchange will be constructed under
his efforts, which has helped both the LDC
and our open space. For these reasons he
recommended the: salary increase because Ad-
ministrator Wurl did accomplish goals that
were not explicitly defined. He also felt
that he did a good job on the budget, with
less transfers. Wurl represents the City well,
also as Preident of the Cl1L, is on the Executive
Board for Water for Colorado, which he felt
were worthwhile areas in improving our relations
with other cities. He has also secured an
adequate water supply for theCity~
